GRAND TOUR PARIS EDITION 2020

GRAND TOUR PARIS®, (hereinafter referred to as the Event) will take place on May 15th, 16th and 17th, 2020 and is organised by LA ROUTE EST BELLE, SAS, with a capital of 8,000€, SIREN: 850 571 522 RCS Créteil

The company CAP VELO ORGANISATION SIRET n° 52908063200019 is the travel operator selling the tourism services available to the participants of the Event and included in their registration.

This document defines:

  • (i) the Sports Rules and Regulations of the Event (hereinafter referred to as the Rules)
  • (ii) the General Terms of Sale which apply to any order of Event-related products or services, placed with the Organiser through the registration platform Njuko (its website, its mobile website or its app) (hereinafter the General Terms of Sale of the Organiser) excluding Tourism services, as defined in the introduction of the General Terms of Sale of CAP VELO ORGANISATION.
  • (iii) The General Terms of Sale which apply to any order concerning Event-related travel services, placed with CAP VELO ORGANISATION (hereinafter the General Terms of Sale of CAP VELO ORGANISATION).

The words “you”, “your”, “yours” designate you as a participant or consumer or as his/her parent or legal guardian (age 18 or over) if the participant or consumer is a minor in his/her country of residence.

Your enrolment in the Event implies your express and full acceptance of these General Rules, the Organiser’s General Terms of Sale and the General Terms of Sale of CAP VELO ORGANISATION in case of orders concerning Tourism Services.

This document completes the Terms of Use of the online registration platform called Njuko (hereinafter Njuko), available at the following address www.njuko.com.

In the event of contradiction between the Terms of Use of Njuko, the Organiser’s General Terms of Sale, the General Terms of Sale of CAP VELO ORGANISATION and these General Rules, the terms of the General Rules will prevail over the General Terms of Sale which will in turn prevail over the Terms of Use of Njuko.

In case of major modifications to the General Terms of Sale and/or the General Rules, the Organiser will inform you by email at the address provided on Njuko.

The Organiser can review and update the General Terms of Sale and the General Rules at any time; please consult them regularly.  Any modification will apply immediately after having been notified, by any means, including the publishing of a revised version of these Rules on the website of the Event https://www.grandtourparis.cc.

In case of major modifications to the General Terms of Sale and/or the General Rules, the Organiser will inform you by email at the address provided on Njuko.

Important ! Role of Njuko :

The website Njuko through which orders are placed, allows professional sellers and organisers to list and sell their products and services. 

Even though the Njuko platform facilitates the transactions completed on the platform, Njuko is neither the seller nor the organiser of the Event-related products and services.

Consequently:

  • On the one hand, concerning the Event-related products and services other than Tourism Services, a sales contract is established only between you and the Organiser. The Organiser is accountable for the sales of Event-related products or services, other than Tourism Services, and for claims or any other problem which could occur or be linked to the sales contract established between you and the Organiser.
  • On the other hand, for the sale of Tourism Services, a sales contract is established only between you and CAP VELO ORGANISATION. CAP VELO ORGANISATON is accountable for sales concerning Tourism Services and claims or any other problem which could occur or be linked to the sales contract established between you and CAP VELO ORGANISATION.

These Sports Rules and Regulations (hereinafter the Rules) apply to all the participants of the Event. They are an integral part of the General Terms of Sale referred to above.

In the event of conflict with the provisions of the General Terms of Sale, the provisions of the Rules will prevail.

GRAND TOUR PARIS® propose une boucle cycliste de 540 km tout autour du Grand Paris, reliant trois villes-étapes au patrimoine exceptionnel.

Le GRAND TOUR PARIS® est un ensemble de randosportives, non-chronométrées dans leur intégralité.

Trois étapes et un Ultra sont proposés :

  • – 15 mai Une étape Chantilly-Fontainebleau de 190 km environ
  • – 16 mai Une étape Fontainebleau-Rambouillet de 170 km environ
  • – 17 mai Une étape Rambouillet-Chantilly de 180 km environ
  • – 16 – 17 mai Un Ultra de Chantilly à Chantilly de 540 km environ

These randosportives (sporty treks) will take place on roads open to traffic.

Each participant will be informed of the detailed circuit later on.

The Organiser asks all participants to choose a pace group when they register:

  • 20 – 23 km/h
  • 24 – 27 km/h
  • 28 – 30 km/h
  • + de 30 km/h

Two pacemakers will be present during the 2 first start waves.

This choice of pace group can be modified by informing the organisation team on the day participants retrieve their bibs.   

The ULTRA participants must follow the GRAND TOUR PARIS rules and regulations, as well as the following specific rules:

  • – In order to be an official « finisher », participants must complete the entire circuit in maximum 30 hours.
  • – There will be 2 refreshment points along the 540 km circuit, suitable food and beverage will be available there.
  • – Participants will be able to leave a bag at the registration post and have access to it at the refreshment point of their choice.
  • – No support vehicle or non-enrolled cyclist will be allowed to accompany the participants independently. If need be, the support teams can help the participants at the refreshment point (Time Station).
  • – If a participant decides to withdraw from the race, he/she must inform the organisation team as soon as possible. It is the participant’s responsibility to leave the circuit safely. 
  • – If a participant withdraws from the race, whatever the reason, it is his/her responsibility to return the GPS device given to him/her, either to the organisation team or directly to the service provider of the company supplying the GPS device. 
  • – If a participant withdraws from the race, whatever the reason, he/she will bear the entire cost set by our GPS partner. If the GPS box is not returned, the cost of the box will be directly charged to him/her by our GPS service provider.  
  • – Participants must wear reflective clothing at night.
  • – Bicycles must be equipped with head and tail lights. For safety reasons, these lights must be sufficiently visible. The head light must be continuously on steady mode at night (from 7 pm to 7 am). For your own safety, the tail light must be in flashing mode during the entire trial.  We recommend two tail lights at night, one in steady mode to allow visibility, and the other one flashing in order for automobile drivers to assess distance.  
  • – Additional lights can be added on the cyclist or/and his/her helmet.

To take part in the Event, you must be eighteen or over on December 31st 2020 at the latest.

No ranking will be established at the end of the Event.

During the Event, verifications will take place in order to insure perfect compliance with the rules of the race, particularly concerning age conditions.

No medical certificate or licence is required for this non-timed Event.  However the Organiser attracts the participants’ attention on the fact that sometimes intense physical efforts will be required and that they must be cautious not to injure themselves.

Taking part in this Event implies each participant’s express and full acceptance of these Rules.

Bibs and/or frame plates will be delivered upon presentation of the following documents:

  • – Your notification, downloadable on your Njuko account and/or sent before the Event by email
  • – Your ID document

Bibs will only be available at the dedicated area of the Event Village, installed in each start line city.

Retrieving Stage Bibs:

  • – Friday May 15th 2020 from 7.00 am to 7.45 am at the Start Line Village in Chantilly for stages 1,2,3.
  • – Saturday May 16th 2020 from 7.00 am to 7.45 am at the Start Line Village of Fontainebleau for stages 2,3.
  • – Sunday May 17th 2020 from 7.00 am to 7.45 am at the Start Line Village of   Rambouillet for stage 3.

Retrieving Ultra bibs :

  • – Saturday May 16th 2020 from 8.00 am to 11.00 am at the Start Line Village of Chantilly.

All bib number assignations are firm and final.

No bib will be sent by mail.

I.6.1. Fees for the bibs  

For safety reasons, the Organiser of the Event reserves the right to limit the number of available bibs.

Here are the fees for the bibs:

  • 1 stage:
    • 42 € jusqu’au 31/12/2019
    • 52 € du 01/01/2020 au 30/04/2020
    • 62 € du 01/05/2020 au 15/05/2020
  • 2 stages:
    • 73 € jusqu’au 31/12/2019
    • 83 € du 01/01/2020 au 30/04/2020
    • 93 € du 01/05/2020 au 15/05/2020
  • 3 stages:
    • 94 € jusqu’au 31/12/2019
    • 104 € du 01/01/2020 au 30/04/2020
    • 114 € du 01/05/2020 au 15/05/2020
  • Ultra :
    • 94 € jusqu’au 31/12/2019
    • 104 € du 01/01/2020 au 30/04/2020
    • 114 € du 01/05/2020 au 15/05/2020

The fees for the bibs are indicated in this document in Euros, all tax included, at the rate in force on the day of your registration.

All registrations to the Event are personal, firm and final, and cannot be refunded for any reason, unless specifically stipulated in the Rules.

Bibs cannot be traded between participants for any reason.

Anyone retroceding their bib to a third party will be held accountable in case of an accident occurring or being caused by the latter during the trial.

The organisation team disclaims any liability for any accident occurring in this type of situation.

I.6.2. Fees for tourism services

Tourism services (accommodation), which are only associated to the purchase of a bib allowing to take part in the GRAND TOUR PARIS®, are also available. Reminder, the General Terms of Sale of CAP VELO ORGANISATION apply to this type of purchase.

The Event is not timed.

No portion of the Event will be timed in order to allow the participants to enjoy the GRAND TOUR PARIS® fully and at their pace.

Participants must cross the finish line of each stage before 6.30 pm max.  Beyond that time, the finish line will be closed.

Road safety is ensured by the Préfecture de Police. 

On no account can the Organiser be held liable if a participant cannot finish the race following a decision made by these general services.  

Participants will have to comply with the safety instructions given by the Organiser’s staff all along the circuit.

The safety measures for each stage come to an end at the finish line.

All the circuits will essentially or fully be held on roads open to traffic. To ensure everyone’s safety, it is essential that all participants RESPECT TRAFFIC REGULATIONS all along the circuit (one-way streets, stop signs, traffic lights…)

It is important to be attentive and respect these regulations in order for everyone to cohabitate in public areas in the best conditions.

It is essential for all to follow the instructions given on the circuit by the organisation staff and the police, in addition to the provisions enacted by Traffic Regulations.

When entering the Event each participant is asked to commit to the following instructions:

  • Respect Traffic Regulations at all times
  • Display a spirit of civility to all other parties (other participants, car drivers,  pedestrians, public transport users, public service employees, etc) 
  • Handle waste eco-responsibly (food packaging, inner tubes, etc…) by using the recycling containers supplied by the organisation team. 
  • Respect the environment by avoiding any action which could cause degradations.  

The Organiser reserves the right to exclude from the Event participants who do not follow this charter.

To guarantee their safety and to allow the good conduct of their randosportive (sporty trek), all participants must, at the start line of the Event, be equipped with:

  • A hard shell helmet,  bearing in mind that chinstraps must always remain closed,
  • A hydration system (container or bag)

The following items are also highly recommended :

  • A bicycle in perfect condition
  • A chain tool or multi-tool
  • A mobile phone
  • Several air tubes (minimum 2)
  • A pump

Each participant must possess individual accident insurance or civil liability insurance, either through a sports licence delivered by a sports federation or through private insurance.

When signing the registration form, each participant commits on their honour to be covered by individual insurance.

The Organiser will not be held accountable in case this commitment is not honoured by the participant and consequently in case of incident or accident occurring to the participant before, during or after the trial.

In the same context, no collaborator, assistant or member of the organisation staff can be held individually accountable before, during or after the trial.

An emergency number will be given to all participants, this number shall only be used in case of an accident or if a participant needs medical assistance or to inform the organisation team of their withdrawal from the race.

Controls can be organised upon request made by the Ministry of Sports. In this respect, anti-doping controls can be carried out during the Event. Participants in the Events pledge to thoroughly respect the doping ban as well as the measures concerning anti-doping controls, according to the current laws and regulations, particularly articles L. 230-1 and following of the official French Sports Code. 

Should circumstances so require, the Organiser reserves the right to modify at any time the circuit, the location of the refreshment points and Time Stations, to adjourn the date and/or hours of the Event, to stop the ongoing race, to cancel it or to choose a fallback itinerary.

The Organiser reserves an exclusive image right during the entire duration of the trial and this, concerning all the registered participants.

Unless specifically requested by the participant, the Organisation reserves the right to use any photography or video taken during the trial in order to promote the Event.

In accordance with current legislation, participants have a right to access, modify or oppose their personal IT data.

This data can be used, surrendered, leased or exchanged particularly for commercial operations, results and media use.
